Fabric waste

Fabric waste include clothing and home textiles that cannot be placed in the collection bin for discarded textiles:

  • bags
  • socks
  • carpets
  • underwear
  • rainwear and galoshes
  • clothing made of leather and imitation leather
  • padded textiles such as duvets and headgear
  • foam rubber mattresses
  • plush toys
  • wet, dirty, mouldy and strong smelling textiles
  • textiles containing pests

Where can you recycle fabric waste?

Fabric waste can be placed in the combustible waste bin or taken to a recycling station.

In May and August, there are stunt days organised at the recycling stations, during these days fabric waste can be delivered to a recycling station free of charge.

What happens to fabric waste?

Fabric waste is incinirated and used for energy.
